Many poor households and small enterprises lack the infrastructure necessary for poverty alleviation. The poor not only receive inefficient and expensive services but they also lack access to appropriate technical solutions.

Some Key Questions

• How do we provide a technology solution that will improve earnings? For example: an alternate solution to sun drying of agarbathi packets that is not dependent on seasonal changes.

• How do we design financing that meets the specific cash flow requirement of the poor? For example: it is easier for a street vendor to pay Rs. 10 per day rather than Rs. 300 per month.

• How do we provide mainstream access to available solutions (technology or financial)? For example: Linking poor to existing suppliers of efficient fans or lighting or to local banks to access financing to avail these products.
